Meditation

“Realize deeply that the present moment is all you have. Make NOW the primary focus of your life.”

- Eckart Tolley

  • What is Meditation?

Meditation is the slowing of the mind by focusing your attention on a particular object, thought or activity. If you were to imagine looking out on a still lake or pond, you would be able to see your reflection clearly. If the water is agitated and choppy with waves this would be impossible. The mind works in the same way.

By controlling your mind and thoughts, you can gain clarity and reduce stress in your life. This is achieved through the slowing of your breathing, focusing your attention inward and lowering your heart rate. In this relaxed state, concentration is improved, thus allowing you to alter how you perceive and respond to the world around you.

There are many different types of mediation. I teach Concentrative,  Mindfulness and Guided.

  • Mindfullness & Concentration

Mindfulness is the practice of being in the present moment, making yourself open and aware of what is happening around you. This technique has become very popular, with the results and benefits being immediate.

Concentrative Meditation involves the focusing of your attention on one thing (breath, mantra word or an object) while tuning out everything else around you. This is not easy and requires practice, but the benefits are worth the time and effort.
